This nineteen-month project began in April 2019 and concluded in November 2020. Work was performed entirely in the Town of Branford, in south-central Connecticut. Work called for the demolition of an aging four-lane bridge carrying I-95 traffic over two-lane US Route 1 and the construction of a new bridge and approaches. The accelerated bridge construction methodology was used to virtually eliminate disruption to this high-traffic connector between Boston and New York and heavily traveled Route 1 beneath it. The re-negotiated contract value of $16.5M, which included state-directed additions and changes, was met and delivery incentives were earned.
