PROJECT Details

The Baldwin Bridge project was a joint venture with Tutor-Perini and PCL. The project involved the new construction of a 2,626.5 feet long, 163 feet wide (four 12-foot lanes in each direction plus shoulders and a pedestrian/bicycle path). It included 488 precast segments, some up to 140 tons, cast over a 19-month period with 1,776 piles driven. The project also included:

  • Foundation and pier bases concrete: Pier columns – 34,110 cy; Superstructure (precast) – 15,780 cy; Superstructure – 32,248 cy; Cast-in-Place – 773 cy; Tremie – 15,573 cy
  • Rebar – 12,725,500 lbs.
  • Post-tensioning – 3,045,768 lbs (strand), 193,726 lbs. (bars)
  • 27,937 cy of earth removed from cofferdams
