New Milford’s new high school is the largest in Litchfield County, with the ability to accommodate up to 1,600 students.  The 298,000 SF fully air-conditioned building includes 57 classrooms, 14 science labs, 17 specialty labs (including Child Development, Language, and Horticulture). In addition to state-of-the-art classroom space, the facility also includes a stellar observatory, 30 acres of athletic fields, two gymnasiums, parking for 600 cars, a 100-seat lecture hall and an 800-seat professional theatrical auditorium.

Architecturally, the building blends modern elements such as a glass atrium entry with traditional New England icons like the two-story cupola that crowns the school.   Large rooflines include pitched roofs with gables and dormers as well as turreted stair towers that blend with architectural louvers and a glass atrium to complete the facility’s overall style.
