The construction industry is ever-evolving and dynamic, yet people are always at the heart of everything we do. We believe that our clients find value in working with a construction company that possesses a high level of integrity and understands the needs of those around them.
Volunteer activities also allow our employees to deepen relationships with each other. This transcends into their work because they are invested in producing exceptional results and working together to come up with solutions.
How O&G does its part
We encourage our employees to keep community and volunteerism at the forefront, which can also make their work more engaging and worthwhile. O&G also has a variety of internal committees that drive awareness, fundraise, and give back.
Many of our employees are active members in their communities. Their volunteerism ranges from serving on different boards and committees to participating in charity events. Regardless of what they do, they are focused on making their communities better places.
O&G also invests in projects that improve our communities, such as a 14-acre dog park at our quarry in Southbury and the transformation of a former sand and gravel facility into Toby’s Pond and Recreation Park, which was donated to the town of Beacon Falls.

O&G Builds
Providing High School Students a Glimpse into a Career in Construction
O&G Builds the nine-month long experiential learning program in which high school students earn credits while learning hands-on about careers in construction. As a part of the program, students get a behind the scenes look into the construction of their school, while engaging in interactive lectures from the project management team, design team and trade contractors as the project moves through the final phases of construction.
During the nine-month O&G Builds program, students meet monthly to learn about construction management, architecture, engineering, masonry, heating, ventilation & air conditioning (HVAC), site work, electrical, plumbing, sheet metal, steel erection and safety.
The O&G Builds program has been recognized with the Connecticut Construction Industries Association (CCIA) Community Service Award in 2014 and the Midstate Chamber of Commerce Recognition for Business & Education Excellence in 2015.
