On June 10, O&G’s Building Group broke ground on the $75 million Robert F. Kennedy PreK-8 School in Providence, Rhode Island. The new school will serve approximately 858 students when it opens in fall 2027.
The ceremony brought together the City of Providence, Providence Public School District, the Rhode Island Department of Education, Tecton Architects, Downes Construction Company, school leaders, and community representatives. The project is O&G’s fourth school in Rhode Island and third in Providence, continuing the company’s work as part of the Rebuild PVD Schools transformation initiative.

As construction manager, O&G is leading delivery of the new school, which replaces the former RFK Elementary School. Demolition is complete, and site work is now underway to prepare for foundations and vertical construction.
“Breaking ground at RFK is an important milestone for Providence and for the students, educators, and families who will one day use this campus,” said Bo Koloski, Vice President and Rhode Island Business Unit Leader at O&G. “O&G is proud to continue our work with all our project partners as part of the broader effort to transform learning environments across the city.”

Designed to support a PreK-8 environment, the building will include dedicated areas for early learning and middle school students, modern classrooms, age specific playgrounds, enhanced security, improved accessibility, upgraded building systems, and infrastructure focused on energy efficiency, comfort, and long term performance.
O&G completed Spaziano Elementary School in 2024 and is now in the final phase of construction on Spaziano Middle School across the street; forming a PreK-8 campus as part of the city’s investment in its schools.
With construction now officially underway at RFK, O&G is proud to help deliver another school that will serve Providence students and the surrounding community for generations.
