Across Bridgeport, Beacon Falls, and Danbury, the Martins keep O&G’s concrete moving. What makes their story unique is that all four family members share the same craft. Paulo Martins, a concrete mixer driver in Bridgeport, has 20 years with O&G. His cousin, Enio Martins, drives in Beacon Falls with 15 years of service. The next generation followed: Joey Martins, Paulo’s son, drives, out of Danbury, with 9 years, while Tony Martins, Enio’s son, joined the Beacon Falls team almost three years ago. Together, they represent more than four decades of experience behind the wheel, and a family tradition built one concrete load at a time.
The path started with Paulo, who was the first to join O&G. Five years later, Enio followed, a decision he says he has never regretted. In fact, his experience with the company was so positive that it inspired the next generation. “It’s the first time in my life I am happy to go to work,” Enio told his son, Tony. Years later, those words helped convince Tony to join O&G himself.
For Joey, the journey began alongside his father in 2017. He started on a forklift in the Bridgeport Mason Yard before earning his concrete mixer license in 2021 and moving into the driver’s seat. Watching Joey build his own career has been a source of pride for Paulo, who values seeing his son create his own path while carrying forward the family’s connection to O&G.
Although they work from different plants and don’t often share the same routes, the Martins remain connected by a common appreciation for the work they do. They take pride in knowing that the concrete they deliver becomes part of projects throughout the region, and they enjoy seeing those projects completed and put to use. From the first load delivered to the finished product, there’s satisfaction in knowing they helped make it happen.
Away from work, the focus is simple: family. Whether on the job or off the clock, the Martins value the time they spend together and take comfort in knowing their relatives are enjoying the same positive experience at O&G. For them, the company has provided more than a career. It has given multiple generations the opportunity to build a future while sharing the same road.
