When Sheryl Lentine joined O&G more than 30 years ago, she had just graduated from college and was working at a daycare. A family connection led her to apply for a receptionist position, and that first opportunity quickly turned into a lifelong career.
“I came in knowing nothing about the products or sales,” she says. “Everything I know, I learned here.”
Starting at the front desk, Sheryl quickly immersed herself in the showroom environment by asking questions, learning about the materials, and helping customers whenever she could. Before long, her curiosity and growing product knowledge led her into a sales role.
Today, Sheryl works closely with homeowners, builders, architects, and designers, helping them choose materials for projects of all sizes. From interior tile selections to large exterior masonry projects, she guides customers through the showroom and helps them find the right solutions for their needs.
Over the years, Sheryl has built strong relationships throughout the industry. Many of the people she works with today are customers she first met decades ago who continue to return because they trust her experience and advice.
“I want to be the person they know they can rely on,” she says.
One of the things she enjoys most about the role is the variety. Every project is different, and every customer brings a new set of ideas, challenges, and opportunities to solve problems.
For anyone considering a career at O&G, Sheryl’s advice is simple: “It’s a great company to work for, and there’s room to grow. You can find where you belong here, just like I did.”
