Justin’s path into masonry sales started long before he officially joined O&G.
Growing up, he spent time in the yard alongside his father, who has worked in masonry for more than 45 years. From mixing cement to helping select materials, he gained early hands-on experience that eventually led him back to the industry.
“It feels full circle,” Justin says. “I have been around this my whole life.”
Justin began his career at O&G at the counter, where he built relationships with customers and developed a strong understanding of materials. Over time, he took on more responsibility and transitioned into the showroom, working on larger and more complex projects.
Today, he works with homeowners, builders, architects, and designers to help them select materials and bring their projects to life. The role requires a mix of product knowledge, problem-solving, and communication, often managing multiple customers and projects at once.
“It is not just one type of customer,” Justin explains. “You could be working with a homeowner one minute and a full project team the next.”
Justin’s background gives him a strong understanding of materials and how they are used, allowing him to guide customers with confidence. He also focuses on helping customers feel comfortable and informed, especially when they are new to the process.
For Justin, success in the role comes down to a combination of skills, including communication, organization, patience, and time management.
His advice for anyone considering the role is simple: come in ready to learn and stay open to growth.
