T.J. Oneglia, Vice President of Construction Materials, recently took part in a significant public discussion hosted by SoundWaters, where key stakeholders gathered to discuss the state of the Stamford harbor and its impact on the city’s health and vibrancy. During the discussion, T.J. highlighted the crucial role that aggregates play in our daily lives as the building blocks of our infrastructure. He emphasized that the average American consumes 10.7 tons of aggregates each year, showcasing their importance in our society. He spoke about the benefits of utilizing barges to transport these aggregates to our plants on Canal and Davenport Streets from across the region. Not only does barging take a substantial amount of trucks off I-95 and city roads, but it also significantly reduces CO2 emissions, is more fuel-efficient, and safer than trucking.
It was a privilege to share with residents and boaters how O&G is dedicated to caring for the city and playing a role in keeping the harbor clean and thriving.
