When Cole Morgan joined O&G in December 2024, he brought with him not only a deep foundation of experience but also a strong sense of purpose. After six years commuting to the Boston area and working on lab science fit-outs, tenant build-outs, and renovations, Cole was ready for something different, something closer to home.
“I was drawn to O&G’s reputation for building schools and their expansion into the Rhode Island market,” Cole shared. “Being able to work on schools in the state I was raised in played a major role in my decision to join the company. Rhode Island needs new schools, and I’ve seen firsthand how new schools can positively impact communities—just like I witnessed on my first school project in Newtown, Connecticut, right out of college.”
Since joining O&G, Cole has hit the ground running and is enjoying his experience so far. “It’s been great. I’ve had the chance to work with a strong team and I’ve felt supported every step of the way.”
One of the most rewarding parts of his role as Superintendent? The people. “I really enjoy interacting with all the different people I meet. And being in my home state has made it even more special—building relationships and connections here has been unique and fulfilling.”
Cole admits his day-to-day is rooted in consistency. “I have a standard routine and stick to it the best I can,” he said. While there may not be any hidden aspects of his daily work, his presence on-site and leadership are anything but ordinary.
Outside of work, Cole is just as dedicated to his family as he is to his job. He and his wife have a young daughter who’s nearing her second birthday, and much of his free time is centered around spending quality moments with them. “I’ve scaled back some of my hobbies since becoming a father. Time is moving quickly, and I truly value this stage of life.”
That said, Cole still finds time for a few passions. He’s been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for four years, and for the past five years has enjoyed crewing on a friend’s sailboat. Currently, he’s working on rehabbing a 15-foot sailboat of his own—something he hopes to finish before the season ends. “My plan is to teach my children how to sail when they’re older on this boat.”
With deep roots in Rhode Island, a commitment to community, and a focus on family and craft, Cole Morgan is bringing both heart and experience to his role in the Building Group.
