On May 5th, the final steel beam for the new Frank D. Spaziano Middle School was ceremoniously signed and raised into place, marking a significant milestone in the construction of this state-of-the-art facility. The event brought together the O&G project team, partners from DOWNES Construction and Tecton Architects, representatives from the Providence Public School District (PPSD), Providence city officials, and members of the Spaziano family to celebrate this key step in the project’s progress.
Construction on the $34.5 million, 38,756-square-foot school began in December 2024, directly across the street from Spaziano Elementary School in Providence, RI. This strategic location creates a unified, campus-like setting, allowing students to continue their education within the same dual-language environment as they move from elementary to middle school, fostering both academic consistency and a strong sense of community.
The new Spaziano Middle School will offer cutting-edge learning environments in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) education, along with dedicated spaces for special education and modern technology integration. The design aims to create a dynamic, inclusive learning atmosphere that prepares students for the future. The construction timeline is set at just 14 months, building on the success of the nearby Spaziano Elementary School, which O&G impressively completed in only 10 months.
