O&G’s Asphalt Paving Division Receives Three CAAPA Paving Awards

On April 11, 2025, the Connecticut Asphalt & Aggregate Producers Association (CAAPA) held its Asphalt Pavement Conference at the Aqua Turf Club to recognize the top performers of the 2024 paving season. Out of 38 nominations, nine projects were selected for recognition. O&G received three awards for its contribution to two different projects.

O&G’s expertise in repaving Unlimited Access Roadways was acknowledged with an award for the Route 64 / US 6 to Flanders Nature Center project in Woodbury. Acting as both prime contractor and paving contractor, O&G also supplied the mix out of its Southbury plant.

For the Special Project (Bridge) category, the Rehabilitation of the I-84 Rochambeau Bridge over the Housatonic River in Newtown/Southbury, earned O&G recognition for supplying mix out of their Southbury plant to partners The Middlesex Corporation and A&J Construction.

The success of these projects would not have been possible without the exceptional support of O&G’s paving and plant (asphalt/quarry) teams, road crews, customers, and project partners like The Middlesex Corporation and A&J Construction. O&G was entrusted by the CTDOT to undertake both of these projects, a responsibility that they take seriously and are proud to fulfill. The company’s accomplishments during the 2024 paving season demonstrate the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure projects, ensuring the safety and convenience of the public, and upholding its reputation as a trusted partner in the industry.
