Norton Elementary Students Get an Inside Look at Their Future School

The O&G project team at Norton Elementary School in Cheshire recently kicked off their O&G Builds program, giving first through sixth graders a behind-the-scenes look at the construction of their new school.

Over the next few weeks, the team will guide each class through the active construction site, highlighting key areas like where school buses will drop off students and where their new cafeteria will be. These tours are designed to spark curiosity and help students connect with the exciting changes happening around them.

During the first week, students got an up-close look at the drilling of geothermal wells. The project team explained that these wells extend nearly two football fields deep into the earth, where they will play a critical role in heating and cooling the new building – a firsthand lesson in sustainable design.

The O&G Builds program is all about inspiring the next generation by showing them the work that goes into creating the places where they will learn, grow, and thrive.

The Picture that started it all…

Students at Norton Elementary couldn’t hide their excitement as they peeked through the fence to get a glimpse of the construction happening right outside — the future home of their brand new school!

Moments like this remind us how powerful it is to let kids witness progress and be part of something being built just for them. The future is bright at Norton!
