Spotlight on Joe Vetro – Leading with Purpose as Project Executive

Celebrating 26 Years of Dedication and Leadership in the Building Division

Earlier this year, Joe Vetro took on a new chapter in his O&G journey as Project Executive in the Building Division—a role that reflects his decades of experience, steady leadership, and commitment to excellence.

Joe has been part of the O&G family since 1998, when he began as a Project Engineer. His journey from that first role to Project Manager, then Senior Project Manager, and now Project Executive has been far more than a series of promotions—it’s been a steady evolution shaped by hands-on leadership, thoughtful communication, and a commitment to solving complex problems with creativity and clarity. Each step built on the last, preparing Joe to lead with purpose and make a lasting impact across the company.

“As a Project Executive, I now get to work with multiple teams on some of their most challenging problems,” Joe says. “From schedule issues to field installation concerns, I enjoy collaborating to find solutions that deliver a high-quality product on time and under budget. It’s truly rewarding.”

What sets Joe apart is his commitment to continual growth, both personally and professionally. He’s candid about the challenges that lie ahead—like improving public speaking and continuing to sharpen his people skills—and he’s determined to push himself outside of his comfort zone. His leadership philosophy is grounded in reflection and self-analysis. “After important meetings or conversations, I try to look back and ask: what could I have done better?”

Throughout his career, Joe has drawn inspiration from many mentors. He credits his father for his strong work ethic and Aaron Mednick for teaching him the importance of transparency—even when the message is difficult. From Francis Oneglia, he learned the power of respect, and from Jason Travelstead, the importance of advocating for the company while maintaining strong client relationships.

As he steps into this new role, Joe’s goals are clear: “I want to drive cleaner, safer jobs, improve customer service, and deliver higher-quality projects that meet schedule needs. That’s how we earn more opportunities and continue to grow as a company.”

Joe’s leadership reflects the culture he sees at O&G—a company where leaders are respected, and pride in your work is a common thread. “I’m proud to work for O&G,” he says. “And I hope to lead in a way that reflects the best of what this company stands for.”

Outside of work, Joe finds balance and motivation in the things that keep him grounded—though he’s humble about sharing those details. Still, it’s clear that his quiet drive and thoughtful leadership will continue to shape the success of O&G for years to come.

Congratulations, Joe, on your well-earned promotion!
