We are excited to announce the 2024 Drivers of the Year! Congratulations to George Molina, Bob Vece, and Jovan Karanxha. These outstanding individuals have been selected due to their exceptional dedication to their work. They consistently go above and beyond without hesitation, demonstrating excellent teamwork and customer service. They have maintained perfect safety records, with no recent accidents, tickets, or customer complaints, and their trucks are always in top-notch condition.
These men have accumulated impressive mileage on the road, all while maintaining safety! Bob has spent 29 years behind the wheel of a tri-axle truck, covering approximately 300 miles daily. George has dedicated 17 years to driving a tractor-trailer for the Mason Division, averaging around 750 miles weekly. Jovan has driven his concrete mixer over 300 miles each day for the past six years. Though they are dispatched from Southbury, Danbury, and Beacon Falls, respectively, their routes take them to projects across Connecticut, including the eastern shoreline, and often into New York.
The selection of these drivers was conducted by a panel consisting of dispatchers, scale house staff, and company executives who evaluate drivers based on several key criteria: reliability, time management, communication skills, problem-solving capabilities, stress management, safety awareness, meticulousness, and self-motivation. Additionally, past disciplinary records and SmartDrive system data were taken into account.
