WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION WEEK SPOTLIGHT: Elizabeth Finance, Architectural Sales Representative

How long have you been in the construction industry?

I have been working in the industry for a decade. My career began in the UK, before moving to the States in 2018. I have been with O&G for just over a year.

How did you get started in the construction industry?

My first job in the industry was with a small construction company in the UK where I was a Jack-of-All-Trades managing HR, project management, and various administrative tasks. The skills and knowledge I gained from this experience eventually led to my promotion to director of new business sales and marketing. Since then, my career has been nothing but successful and rewarding!

Tell us about your role.

In my position as an Architectural Sales Representative, I actively build and maintain relationships with architects and architectural firms. My role at O&G involves delivering superior masonry solutions and products to my clients.

What’s most fulfilling about your role?

I enjoy meeting new people, learning about new products, and assisting firms in finding the perfect solution for their project. I’m always happy to give clients ideas for products they may not have considered or known about. Also, it’s a cool perk knowing what’s going to be built before it is unveiled to the public!

Elizabeth’s outgoing personality and self confidence in addition to a strong desire to learn leave me little doubt that she will be a valuable, contributing member of the Masonry team for many years to come.

How does O&G support you in your role?

Management is amazing and they allow me to express my true self while also supporting me in developing my personality and business expertise. It’s truly fulfilling to represent a company with such an outstanding reputation in the industry and products that I can confidently speak to the exceptional value and long-lasting quality.

What’s your advice for other women looking to enter the construction industry?

There are so many opportunities for women in construction! If you are unsure about which field to pursue it would be smart to talk to an HR manager for expert advice on finding your perfect fit!
