WELCOME 2024 INTERNS!

O&G welcomed 15 interns on Monday, June 3, who will be spending their summer working across various divisions of the company. Two interns from the 2023 program returned, Bill Rose and Paul Filak, adding to the excitement of welcoming this year’s group. While some will be stationed at the main office, others will be working on projects in different locations throughout the state.

The interns underwent a two-day orientation, beginning with onboarding at the headquarters, followed by a bus tour of several O&G project sites and facilities. These included Torrington High-Middle School Project, South Main Repair Facility, Southbury Quarry, Urban Mining Pozzotive Plant, and Beacon Falls Fabrication Plant where they were treated to lunch. The interns were grateful for the employees who took the time to speak with them and give them an insight into the different divisions and facilities of O&G.

Special thanks go out to everyone who took time out of their days to host our interns, including Mike Sasso, Project Engineer at TMHS; Mike Zerio, Assistant Project Manager at TMHS; Keith Woolford, Shop Foreman at South Main; Dave Guerrera, Southbury Quarry Supervisor; John Baranoski, Beacon Falls Fabrication Facility Director; and Jenn Curcio, of Urban Mining. Thank you also to Jay Emanuel, Safety Manager, for sharing his knowledge about safety considerations at each location. We are all eagerly anticipating what these interns will accomplish this summer! Dispatch readers can expect to hear more about them in upcoming Intern Spotlights!
