O&G Helps Fund Charlotte Hungerford Hospital’s Da Vinci Surgical System

We are proud to have partially funded Charlotte Hungerford Hospital’s new da Vinci Surgical System as part of our centennial charitable giving program.

The da Vinci surgical system, the next generation of surgery, brings maximum precision to minimally invasive surgery. This leading-edge system greatly enhances Charlotte Hungerford’s surgical capabilities. It allows complex procedures to be performed through incisions, providing patients with quicker recovery times, better outcomes, and fewer complications, thereby revolutionizing patient care at CHH.

Recently, members of the Oneglia Family – Christina, Matt, David, and Ray – met with CHH staff, including leadership, members of the philanthropy team, and doctors who are utilizing da Vinci, to understand its impact so far.

“We have supported CHH for many decades now, so it was our honor to have had the opportunity to help fund the da Vinci system,” explained Christina. “During our tour, we learned a lot about the positive impact it has had on both CHH, by allowing it to continue as a strong community-based hospital, and local patients by allowing them access to best-in-class surgical technology and doctors for low acuity surgeries. When the surgery can be performed locally, it takes the burden off family members to drive to larger, centralized hospitals and coordinate care for their loved ones.” This is the first and only system of its kind in Litchfield County.
