O&G’s Building Group broke ground on the new Frank D. Spaziano Middle School on December 2nd, along with project partners DOWNES Construction and Tecton Architects, representatives from Providence Public School District (PPSD), Providence City officials, and members of the Spaziano family.
The school will be built directly across the street from Spaziano Elementary School, creating a campus-like setting that allows students to stay in the same dual-language environment as they move from elementary to middle school, promoting academic consistency and a sense of community.
The 38,756 square-foot facility has a projected cost of $34.5 million and will offer “cutting-edge learning environments” in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) education, as well as include classrooms and spaces dedicated to special education and modern technology integration. The construction timeline is estimated at fourteen months, aiming to replicate the success of Spaziano Elementary School, which was impressively completed in just 10 months by O&G.

PPSD officials state that Spaziano Middle School is a key part of their initiative to raise the number of Providence students studying in top-tier facilities from 5% to 100% by 2030.
