I’ve been proud to be part of O&G since 1988, which makes 36 years of dedication and development for me.
What do you do in your position at O&G?
I operate the asphalt plant in Stamford, leading daily operations to ensure efficient production, uphold the highest quality standards, and consistently exceed customer experience.
How did you get started in the industry?
After immigrating from Portugal to pursue better opportunities and the promise of the American dream, I started at O&G as a laborer. Within two years, I embraced the chance to become an asphalt operating engineer, a role that eventually paved the way to my current position overseeing the asphalt plant.
What do you enjoy most about O&G?
I truly value the strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie at O&G. Building something that lasts while forming meaningful relationships has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
What makes our company culture unique?
The emphasis on hard work, loyalty, and community sets O&G apart. The company’s commitment to its employees and their contributions fosters a culture of trust and mutual respect.
What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to learn?
I find joy in making wine, attending soccer games, and tackling small projects around the house. As a handyman, I love improving and fixing things – it’s a hobby that brings me a lot of satisfaction.
What’s one thing on your life bucket list?
I dream of retiring to Portugal to spend more time with family and share my culture with my future grandchildren. Another goal is to give back by volunteering during natural disasters and offering help and support to those in need.
