How long have you been with O&G?
I have been with O&G since June of 2016, making 2024 my 8th year with O&G.
What do you do in your position at O&G?
In my current position as Quality Control Aggregate Manager, I pick up samples of our aggregate from each of the quarries to run tests on and ensure that our materials meet State Specifications. I also cover concrete pours at various locations daily and check to ensure the concrete is being placed properly.
How did you get started in the industry?
I graduated from UConn in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. I took the testing knowledge I gained during four years of lab courses and easily transferred it to construction testing.
What do you enjoy most about O&G?
The one thing I enjoy most about working at O&G is the ability to oversee large construction projects from start to finish. There is something special about driving around the state and seeing new buildings, bridges, and homes being built in communities with O&G materials.
What makes our company culture unique?
O&G has a very special company culture. There are so many large departments that must work seamlessly together to complete daily tasks. It is amazing to see trucks in the yard every day, with material and concrete being delivered.
What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to discover?
I am sure people would be surprised to discover that I am a singer. I sang in an A Capella group at UConn for four years and recorded two albums during that time.
What’s one thing on your life bucket list?
One thing on my life bucket list is to visit Italy. As a big fan of cooking, I would love to see where the food my grandparents taught me how to make originated.
