UConn, Class of 2027, Accounting
Tell us about your experience at O&G so far. What are you currently working on?
My Journey at O&G has been incredible so far. From day one, I’ve been warmly welcomed into the AR department, where I feel right at home. Building connections with my coworkers has been a highlight, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow every day. Currently, I’m working on asphalt daily sales and balancing cash while collaborating with the accounting team on bank reconciliations. It’s a dynamic role that keeps me on my toes!
What inspired you to consider an internship with O&G?
I wanted to gain some hands-on experience in accounting, and since I’ve worked for O&G previously, I thought, what better place to do that! Returning to O&G felt like coming full circle for me. I had the pleasure of working at Bogue Road during high school, where I developed a passion for the company and its people. I knew it would be the perfect place to explore my interest in accounting.
Have you had any other internships? If so, where? What did you do?
This is actually my first internship, and it’s been a blast so far. O&G has set a high bar for future internships!
What inspired you to consider a future career in the construction industry?
I find what we do here at O&G so fascinating. I’ve seen firsthand how multifaceted this field can be, from construction and engineering to legal and accounting roles. The chance to explore these different facets drew me in, and my time here has only solidified my interest in pursuing a career in accounting within this dynamic industry.
