University of Delaware, Class of 2025, Civil Engineering
Tell us about your experience at O&G so far. What are you currently working on?
I am currently working as a project engineer in Meriden. I help out with Pay Reqs, trucking tickets, and field quantities. I have loved working with the various team members, other co-workers in the office, and the foreman and their field crews.
What inspired you to consider an internship with O&G?
I always saw O&G trucks and equipment on the sides of the road while commuting to work.
Have you had any other internships? If so, where? What did you do?
I interned here at O&G last summer as an estimator in the main office and moved to the Meriden office during my winter break, learning the ropes of fieldwork.
What inspired you to consider a future career in the construction industry?
I grew up working as a laborer for my uncle’s site construction company and always loved the math and natural sciences in school. I wanted to get involved in much larger-scale construction and learn its methods and techniques. I like seeing the constant physical progress, which makes me feel accomplished when I go home at the end of the day. I enjoy the hybrid work style of being in the office, going out in the field, and seeing the work done in person.

I went to Australia over spring break this year and snorkeled at the Great Barrier Reef.
