John is a civil engineering major at the University of Connecticut. He chose to study civil engineering because of his interest in both construction and engineering, and civil provides aspects of both.
This is John’s second time interning with O&G. He has been working as a project engineering intern within the building division and is assigned to the Torrington High/Middle School Project. John has found enjoyment being in a fast-paced environment and seeing how quickly a building project comes together. Additionally, he likes seeing how everyone’s different perspectives they bring to a problem allows leads to the solution.
After he graduates, John will continue to pursue a career within the construction industry. Currently, he is vice president of the UConn steel bridge team which finished 17th in the national competition this summer.
