Bill is a civil engineering major at the University of Delaware. He grew up working for his family’s own site construction company since he was 16 as a laborer. He had always enjoyed math and sciences and wanted to combine both his interests to pursue civil engineering.
This is Bills first internship, and he has been interning as an estimator in the heavy civil department. He has been doing takeoff on multiple different projects, some of which are design-build and others and are being design-bid build. He has found it interesting to see the last few days before the bid deadline and see how everything comes together.
In the future he hopes to work on getting his professional engineering license. A fun fact about Bill is he has experience running heavy equipment (loaders, haul truck, excavator).
