One family, three honorees

Three members of the Oneglia family were honored for their community service by the Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center on Wednesday.

Greg Oneglia and his wife, Cathy, and Rod Oneglia, all of Litchfield, received Wisdom Awards during the 13th annual ceremony.

Greg Oneglia, vice chairman of O&G Industries in Torrington, serves on the boards of directors of Union Savings Bank, the Torrington Water Company and the Connecticut Junior Republic. He is a trustee of the Carpentry Industry Promotion Fund and the Connecticut Laborer's Legal Services Fund, is a member of the Knights of Malta, and serves as a parish council trustee at St. Anthony of Padua Church.

Cathy Oneglia, an attorney, serves on the institutional review board at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington; the advisory board of Brooker Memorial in Torrington; the boards of directors of the Susan B. Anthony Project in Torrington and the Litchfield Community Center; and is a corporator of the Northwestern Mutual Holding Company. She is also involved with the Litchfield Garden Club and St. Anthony of Padua Church.

Rod Oneglia is president of the Burlington Construction Co. and is a corporator of the Warner Theatre, the Torrington Historical Society and the Torrington Savings Bank. Oneglia has been involved with the Litchfield Historical Society, the Oliver Wolcott Library in Litchfield, the Seherr-Thoss Foundation in Litchfield, and the Connecticut Commission of the Arts.
