Overview: This program will address the basic concepts about segmental retaining wall (SRW) systems. The presentation will address the history of reinforced earth structures and summarize the site conditions that impact SRW performance and design. Installation details, the proper construction sequence, and specifications are also addressed.

Presenter: Kevin Earley, LEED Green Associate with an M.S. in Engineering Geology from Drexel University. He is one of the contributing Principal Authors of the ASCE’s Permeable Pavement Manual and is past chairman of the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI)’s Technical Committee.
Earley is a member of three ASCE Standards Committee including: Interlocking Concrete Pavement design, PICP design, and the PICP Task Committee. He is also a voting member of ASTM C-15, Manufactured Masonry Units, and was appointed to an ASTM Technical Advisory Committee developing Product Category Rules for unit concrete products.
He has over 20 years’ experience related to geotechnical and environmental solutions using concrete products and regularly speaks to specifiers, contractors and manufacturers on stormwater topics, earth retaining wall structures and concrete industry developments.
Mr. Earley is currently Director, Hardscape Solutions for Oldcastle Architectural supporting the promotion, design, and construction of permeable pavements and segmental retaining walls.
